Serik Nurakynov

General Information and Education
Serik Nurakynov was born in 1987 in the Almaty Region, Kazakhstan.
He graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a Bachelor’s degree in Cartography and Geodesy and subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Cartography.
He earned a PhD degree in Geodesy from Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev).
He completed research internships at the University of Salzburg (Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, Austria) in 2012–2013 and at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017–2018.

2011–2017 – Research Fellow, Ionosphere Institute, National Center for Space Research and Technology JSC.
2017–2020 – Head of Laboratory, Ionosphere Institute, National Center for Space Research and Technology JSC.
2020–2023 – Commercial Director, Ionosphere Institute, National Center for Space Research and Technology JSC.
Since 2023 – Director, Ionosphere Institute, Aerospace Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
