Laboratory of Space and Geoinformation Technologies
The Laboratory of Space and Geoinformation Technologies develops and implements modern solutions in the fields of satellite monitoring and geoinformatics. The main areas of focus include the study of glaciers and rock glaciers, assessment of climatic and hydrological risks, predictive and prospecting technologies for geological mapping, as well as the development of WEB-GIS platforms for the analysis and visualization of big geospatial data. The work actively utilizes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for aerial photography, echo sounders for bathymetry, and other modern methods of spatial data collection. The laboratory’s integrated approach ensures the development of scientifically grounded tools for monitoring, forecasting, and the efficient management of natural resources. Working with Earth Remote Sensing data, combined with geoinformatics and machine learning methods, allows for high-precision results and addresses challenges ranging from local to regional scales.
