Awarding of employees of the Institute of the Ionosphere for their contribution to the development of space science

On April 10, 2025, on Science and Cosmonautics Day, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded three employees of the Institute of the Ionosphere for their contribution to the development of space science.

Zhantaev Zhumabek Shabdenamovich was awarded the Order of “Parasat”, Zhumabaev Beibit Tenelovich was awarded the honorary title “Kazakhstannyn enbek sinirgen gylym zhane technician kairatkeri”, and Seifullina Botakoz Bulatkyzy received the keys to a two-room apartment in Almaty.

Zhumabek Shabdenamovich Zhantayev is a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Academy of Natural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the International Academy of Astronautics, a leading scientist in the fields of geodynamics, applied geophysics, and seismology, and a prominent scientific organizer. Under his scientific leadership, the scientific and experimental base of the space industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan was formed.
He is the founder of a new scientific field – an innovative method of ground-space monitoring of geodynamic and geophysical processes occurring in the earth’s crust.

Beibit Tenelovich Zhumabayev, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, is an associate member of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. He is one of the founders of radio geophysical research in Kazakhstan. He has made significant contributions to the development of this scientific field, particularly in the study of radio wave propagation in various frequency ranges and the influence of solar activity on near-Earth space, including processes in the Earth’s lithosphere. Thanks to his contributions, spectrographic solar studies were established in Kazakhstan, as well as geomagnetic research in the seismically active zone of Almaty.

Seifullina Botaköz Bulatqyzy, a Master of Science in Natural Sciences, has been actively involved in a number of research projects within the framework of the National Programs for Fundamental and Applied Research for the past seven years. Her key research findings are reflected in 14 publications, including seven articles in journals with a non-zero impact factor indexed in the international databases Scopus and Web of Science, as well as seven articles in scientific journals recommended by the Committee for the Prevention of Observations of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Institute of the Ionosphere LLC congratulates its employees on their well-deserved awards and expresses sincere gratitude for their dedication to science and outstanding professionalism.
