A scientific seminar with students from Almaty Lyceum No. 166

On May 28, 2025, the Ionosphere Institute LLC held a thematic event for 9th-grade students of the Almaty State University Lyceum No. 166 in the format of a scientific and practical seminar.

The aim of the event is to popularize space sciences, as well as support school science projects in line with the areas being developed at the Institute.

The seminar program began with a welcoming speech from the management and an introduction to the Institute’s main areas of activity, presented at the laboratory booths. Subsequently, the students, together with their scientific supervisors—A.V. Berkman, A.V. Berkman, and G.F. Otin—presented a report on “Searching for Earthquake Precursors.” During the presentation, they demonstrated the operation of the experimental equipment and the results obtained over more than a year of continuous observations. Furthermore, the participants detailed their roles in the project and the methods for verifying measurements taken along the fault line.

Together with leading researchers from the Institute, prospects for further development of the project were discussed, including the possibility of installing additional sensors on the Institute’s or educational institution’s premises, and steps to expand cooperation were identified.

At the end of the seminar, all participants were awarded certificates and souvenirs, and were also invited to further participate in joint scientific initiatives.
